
Delhi-based Wanderlust Travels Pvt. Ltd. will work closely with Sikkim Tourism Board to set up adventure sports activities like high altitude valley crossing, Flying Trapeze, Burma Bridge etc. by year end. The company is also in talks with Delhi Tourism for similar adventure activity projects in the capital. Wanderlust Travels will target young corporate travellers in the age group of 20-30 years. The company will soon add activities like white water river rafting and trekking in Arunachal Pradesh.
The company is also focusing on ‘not-so-frequented' destinations like Kenya, Turkey, China and Greece and is also planning to add destinations like Iceland , Mount Everest Base, few locations in Scandinavia and the North Pole to their portfolio and working on creating packages for the same. Speaking with TravelBiz Monitor, Major S K Yadav, Managing Director, Wanderlust Travels, said “We are keen on working closely with various tourism boards. In 2005, we organised adventure sports activities for Andhra Pradesh Tourism at Hyderabad and Vijayawada , which were appreciated by the visitors.”
With regards to the new destinations like Iceland and Scandinavia, Major Yadav remarked, “Tourists will enjoy staying in the igloos and travelling on dog sledges. We will provide this unique experience on demand.” The company is also looking at introducing cruise trips to Antarctica. However, plans for the same are at an initial stage. Wanderlust will also promote adventure travel destinations across India .
Wanderlust works with 28 business partners for its inbound business and offers packages to destinations such as the backwaters of Kerala, Rajasthan , Sikkim , Darjeeling and Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.
